OTHER THERAPIES - TUI NA
Tui Na (pronounced ‘twee-nah’) is the oldest system of bodywork
and massage as practised in China for 4,000 years. It can be described as
acupuncture ‘without the needles’ and is carried out through clothing.
It involves vigorous, deep tissue massage along with techniques to incorporate
all the joints.
Tui Na works in accordance with Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western
Anatomy and Physiology. It can treat chronic pain relating to musculo-skeletal
conditions such as whiplash, arthritis and those related to a modern lifestyle
such as repetitive strain injury and back pain.
Shiatsu and Tui Na treatments generally last 45-50 minutes and will include
consultation at the start of each session to discuss health, lifestyle and
medical background.
