What Is Reiki?
Reiki is a deeply relaxing energy healing technique originating from Japan. The word Reiki comes from the two Japanese words “rei,” meaning universal, and “ki,” meaning life energy. Developed by Mikao Usui in the early 20th century, Reiki works by channeling energy to balance the body’s energy centers, or chakras, without any physical manipulation.
During a Reiki session, the practitioner will lay their hands on or above the client’s body and guide universal energy into them. Reiki is very gentle, and reduces stress and anxiety, promoting wellbeing and relaxation.
Reiki treatments are respectful of the client, and can be given to clients in a seated or lying position.
What Can Reiki Help With?
Reiki can help with stress, anxiety, chronic pain, illness, sleep, healing, managing symptoms, general wellbeing, emotional problems, fatigue, and much more. It is very calming for the nervous system, which can allow the body to return to a state of relaxation, rest and digest – the parasympathetic nervous system – the optimum state for healing to take place.
Reiki Sessions
Your first session will last for about one hour and include a brief consultation at the beginning to gather relevant health information. Subsequent sessions will last approximately 45 minutes.
£45 per session.
