Counselling

The Observatory Practice is delighted to offer Counselling with the highly experienced Ann Welsh from The Tanglewood Practice.

What Is Counselling?

Counselling provides individuals with a safe, confidential space to explore their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. The counsellor helps clients address personal, social, or psychological challenges. Counselling can be short-term, focusing on specific issues, or long-term, addressing deeper, more complex concerns.

One of the key benefits of counselling is its ability to foster self-awareness and personal growth. Through guided conversations, individuals gain insight into their emotions, patterns of behaviour, and underlying issues that may contribute to stress, anxiety, or depression. This understanding often empowers clients to develop healthier coping strategies.

Counselling also provides emotional support during challenging times, such as grief, relationship difficulties, or major life transitions. It helps individuals build resilience, manage stress, and cultivate healthier relationships by improving communication skills and emotional regulation.

For those with mental health conditions, such as anxiety disorders or PTSD, counselling can be a vital part of treatment, often complementing medication. Additionally, it promotes overall well-being by enhancing self-esteem, reducing negative self-talk, and encouraging positive lifestyle changes.

Ultimately, counselling offers a pathway to healing, empowerment, and a better quality of life.
